Jasmine sambac absolute is a low-volume, high-value material where provenance and harvest handling dominate quality. Flowers must reach the extraction unit within hours of picking, which is why proximity to the farm is a genuine quality argument, not marketing.
How the material is made
Fresh blossoms are solvent-extracted to a concrete, then the concrete is alcohol-washed and chilled to remove waxes, yielding the absolute.

- Night-picked, unopened-to-just-opened blossoms give the truest profile
- Chill-filtration quality determines clarity and wax content
- Batch size is naturally small; expect campaign-based availability
Quality markers and adulteration checks
Given the price, adulteration pressure is high. A GC-MS plus sensory panel is the practical defence.
- Methyl anthranilate, linalool, benzyl acetate and indole balance
- Absence of undeclared synthetic reconstitution materials
- No dilution with benzyl benzoate or DPG unless specified
- Colour and viscosity consistent with a genuine absolute
